Biodata

Dr. Park is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU). He directs the Optofluidic Bio & Energy Systems (OBES) Laboratory. He received his doctoral degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), 2010 (adviser: Professor Eric P.Y. Chiou) and was further trained as a post-doctoral research fellow at the UCLA Optofluidic Systems Laboratory, 2011. He was awarded the NSF CAREER grant on optofluidic solar indoor lighting in 2021. He also received the 2010 Harry M. Showman Prize given to the very only outstanding graduate student from Class of 2010 graduates in UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science. He was a recipient of the Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) Scholarship from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UCLA in 2006.
